Kazakhstan's Jewish community is inviting contributions for the 8th edition International Scientific Conference, which is dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the Central State Archive of Kazakhstan and will be held Almaty on 16 September 2016.
The conference is devoted to the evacuation of Jews and others to Kazakhstan, other Central Asian countries, and Western Siberia during World War II and will deal with the destinies of refugees, people, industrial facilities and cultural institutions evacuated to these parts of the Soviet Union. The stories of people forcibly resettled as a result of global political events will be discussed at the conference, as will be the history of Jews in Central Asia and Western Siberia.
The event is jointly organized by the Jewish community's Mitsva Association and the Central State Archive of Kazakhstan. To submit articles or personal stories, or to request participation, please send an email to the following addresses: baron@mitsva.kz and jewish-kz@inbox.ru. The number of publications from one author is not limited. The organizers reserve the right to select and edit material for publication. Illustrations are welcome received in a separate file. Any contributors unable to attend the conference in person can have their their scientific reports presented at stands and publicized.
There is no registration fee.
The deadline for the submissions of papers is 1 September 2016. The general requirements for texts are as follows: Times News Roman font size14, interval of 1.5cm, fields 2cm, end automatic footnotes. Please also attach personal information: surname, first name, scholastic degree, position and place of work and contacts. Footnotes in the text of the source literature are executed in square brackets in the ordinal numbering. The source of literature is made at the end of the article.
Texts should be accompanied by information about the author: name, surname, academic degree, title, position and place of work and contact details.
Working languages are English, Kazakh and Russian. Organizational costs are discussed with each author individually.
