World Jewish Congress (WJC) President Ronald S. Lauder has condemned the terrorist attack at a concert in Manchester, England on Monday night as "despicable and horrendous." Police confirmed on Tuesday that the attack was carried out by a lone suicide bomber who was carrying “an improvised explosive device”.
Lauder declared: “Last night, at least 22 concertgoers were murdered by a suicide bomber. We mourn the victims of this carnage, and our hearts go out to the many injured, to the families who lost love ones in this sickening act of terrorism, and to the British people.
"The world stands united in its resolve to confront and defeat the scourge of terrorism.
"Our liberties and our way of life shall triumph,” said Lauder.
The device was detonated in the 21,000-seat arena's foyer shortly after 10.30pm on Monday night.
The US singer Ariana Grande was giving a concert in the hall, which is one of the largest of its kind in Europe. Among the victims were minors.
