NEW YORK – World Jewish Congress President Ronald S. Lauder strongly condemned the terrorist attack that struck a crowded underground train in London on Friday, calling it a “vicious act of indiscriminate hatred” and declaring “we must stand together in the unbending struggle against terrorism.”
“The World Jewish Congress condemns in the strongest possible terms the vicious act of indiscriminate hatred targeting innocent civilians on an underground train in London this morning.
“On behalf of the 100 Jewish communities worldwide represented by the WJC, we stand by the British government and its citizens in abhorring yet another terrorist attack on their soil, the fifth this year. Our thoughts are with the victims and we are grateful that no lives were lost.
“I just returned from London, where the World Jewish Congress Executive Committee held its bi-annual meeting, and saw firsthand the resolve of the British government and people in fighting terror.
“We must stand together in the unbending struggle against terror and hatred. This was an attack not just against the people of London, but against all decent people in this world. We will not let terrorist threaten our lives and liberty. We will not surrender to those who wish to destroy us.”
